National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA)

Energy generated from the Grapevine Canyon Wind Project will be delivered to the regional electric grid at the Western Area Power Administration transmission system. A new transmission tie-line will deliver energy from the wind park to the Western transmission line, crossing U.S. Forest Service lands.

Western, as an agency of the U.S. Department of Energy, will be the lead federal agency for the NEPA process. The Forest Service will be a cooperating agency.
